A Mahon in form – Robbie scoops August POTM
Edinburgh City forward Robbie Mahon has been named the SPFL League 2 Player of the Month for August. The 22-year-old has enjoyed a flying start to his second spell at Meadowbank, scoring seven league goals including a first ever hat trick away to Elgin City.
Signing permanently in the summer transfer window, Mahon has reaped the benefits of reuniting with Michael McIndoe. All but one of Mahon’s senior career goals have been scored under McIndoe’s watch, and the Irishman’s electric form has helped the Citizens make a ten point dent in their points deduction in a matter of weeks.
Mahon has praised his fellow players for the role they have played in helping him pick up the award, and reflected on what has been a productive August for the team.
“I’m delighted to win the Player of the Month award, I couldn’t have done it without the lads. Every single player has been excellent since the start of the season and we as a team are looking to build on what’s been a good month on the pitch.”
