Michael McIndoe

Born in Sighthill, Edinburgh, on 2 December 1979, Michael McIndoe is a former Scotland B international whose decorated playing career spanned nearly 500 professional appearances and 80 goals  Known for his exceptional crossing, technical flair, and pace, he was a proven scorer at every level—including crucial League Cup strikes against Premier League outfits like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Aston Villa 

After hanging up his boots in 2018, McIndoe moved into coaching and football development. He joined Gretna 2008 as sporting director and assistant manager in 2022, later taking the reins as head coach and steering the club away from relegation 

McIndoe was appointed manager of Edinburgh City on 9 October 2023 and has since become the driving force behind an exciting, attack-minded team that overachieved amid financial constraints and league setbacks  Throughout the 2024–25 campaign, he has earned no fewer than three SPFL League Two Manager of the Month awards (November and December 2024, February 2025), marking the first time any Edinburgh City manager has achieved three such accolades in a single season  In February 2025, the club honoured his outstanding leadership with a new three-and-a-half-year contract extension.

Kirk Crichton

Asst. Manager

Born 16 November 1986 in Scotland, Kirk Crichton holds a UEFA A coaching licence and joined Edinburgh City’s backroom team alongside Michael McIndoe on 9 October 2023, signing a contract that runs through May 2027  A former assistant at Penicuik Athletic, Vale of Leithen and Dalkeith Thistle, Kirk brings a strong track record working under McIndoe, including instrumental input during a critical stage of the 2023–24 campaign 
His tactical insight and focus on developing player relationships have been vital to the City’s resurgence, contributing strongly to the momentum that secured multiple managerial awards and the club’s push up the League Two table  Off the pitch, Kirk is known for his attention to detail and positive, coaching-first approach—qualities that resonate with the squad and supporters alike.

Sean Coyle

Goalkeeping Coach

Sean Coyle brings expert care to City’s last line of defence. A UEFA Goalkeeping B licence holder, Sean also holds a UEFA B coaching diploma and is currently pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Football Coaching, Performance & Development at Edinburgh Napier University 

Since joining Edinburgh City in June 2024 as Head of Goalkeeping, Sean has been instrumental in refining the performance of both senior and youth goalkeepers. His detail‑driven training sessions emphasise technique, confidence, and match readiness—helping to strengthen City’s defensive foundation .

In February 2025, he signed a new contract alongside Michael McIndoe and Kirk Crichton, committing to the club’s long‑term vision through to 2028

 Known around Meadowbank for his calm leadership and supportive coaching, Sean has quickly become a trusted mentor both on and off the training pitch.

Zara Kara

Head Physiotherapist

Zara is passionate about helping people recover from injury, manage pain, and return to high level sport. She combines her strong clinical knowledge with her own background in sport to deliver effective, player-centred care.

Zara has worked across various sports physiotherapy clinics across Edinburgh and has extensive experience in the rehabilitation of sports injuries.

Overseeing the acute emergency management of players as well as their post-injury rehabilitation, Zara provides pitch side support and manages player injuries both in the acute stage and takes them through their rehabilitation process.
She also previously worked as a lead physiotherapist in the Kent FA before moving to Scotland.
